VALLIS SUSTAINABLE INVESTMENTS I announced its investment in VORTAL through the acquisition of 17.63% of the share capital of the Portuguese information technology multinational, a leader in electronic procurement systems, which has also ES Tech Venture, Pathena, MEO and its management team as key shareholders
According to Eduardo Rocha, CEO of Vallis Capital Partners, “VSI acquires this stake in order to anticipate capturing the potential value that the European Directive will bring to the market of public procurement in 2018, through the mandatory use of electronic platforms, and it expects to contribute to the further international growth of VORTAL”.
VORTAL, established in 2000, has been an innovation hub in the business-to-business electronic shopping sector, contributing to a closer and more effective relationship between customers and suppliers. At this time the company has international operations in Spain, Czech Republic, Germany, United Kingdom, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Colombia. The company’s growth relies in increasing its international presence taking advantage of the general trend towards the adoption of e-commerce platforms, whether by States or by companies, establishing more transparent and sustainable trade relations.
VORTAL reached a turnover of about 10 million euros in 2014 and has 120 employees in the development and management of e-commerce platforms with about 120,000 registered suppliers.
